With items likely to be exposed to extreme weather conditions, we would recommend the use of kiln-dried Iroko hardwood. This is obtained from West African Forests that operate a sustained yield management programme. By purchasing this Iroko hardwood product from us, you are helping to maintain the long-term economic viability and existance of the forests for generations to come.

Iroko is highly a durable, stable hardwood and is naturally resilient to the changes in climate. We recommend three coats of Sikkens Filter 7 for good weather protection or oil finish to give a warm natural finish.

Other timbers such as English/European Oak or Teak can also be used.
